Rule Name: Patron Response Handler

What this Rule Does:

  • Looks at queue or queues that are used to hold requests awaiting response from patrons.
  • Checks "Transaction Date" field to find items that have been in queue for a configurable amount of time (i.e. 2 days or 7 days).
    • An additional query, such as specifying specific user statuses (i.e. excluding faculty) can be added.
  • After time has elapsed, routes to custom queue and sends email.  Sites may want to send an email cancelling the transaction and route the transaction to cancelled.

Why would you want to use this Rule?

  • Makes management of queues and transactions easier when staff ask patrons for input, but input or information is not provided bya patron.
  • Adds communication to patron reminding them to respond to question about ILL request.

What is needed to use this Rule?

  • Be an active user of IDS Logic
  • If a shared server, the code for what NVTGC you would like the rule to run on.
  • Add email template to customization manager if email to patron is desired.
